Panasas, Inc., a vendor of parallel storage solutions, and Objectivity, Inc., a provider of data management solutions for software applications with complex data requirements, announced impressive benchmark testing results that verify interoperability between Objectivity/DB and the Panasas ActiveStor Parallel Storage System and demonstrate the highest performance available for disk based object-oriented database applications. The integration of these two best-of-class technology solutions will benefit customers who need very high data throughput and unmatched scalability to achieve the fastest possible time to results when running large, complex database applications.
Benchmarking tests demonstrated that queries were completed four times faster than using local storage when deployed on a combination of ActiveStor parallel storage and Objectivity/DB. This performance boost was characterized by a 35 percent enhancement in navigation times and a 400 percent increase in data scanning speeds. Using the combined solution will allow commercial organizations to reduce costs, achieve faster results and maintain optimum performance that scales as capacity requirements grow.
