Coverity(TM), Inc., the leader in improving software quality and security, today announced that it has won the SIIA 2008 CODiE Award for "Best Software Testing Solution." Coverity's flagship product, Coverity Prevent(TM), is the leading static source code analysis solution that enables the automatic detection and resolution of code defects for software written in C, C++ and Java.
Coverity provides advanced source code analysis technology that removes the barriers to writing and delivering complex software by automatically finding and helping to eliminate critical software defects and security vulnerabilities early in the software development process. Recent innovations in Prevent include the first use of Boolean satisfiability (SAT) in static analysis and the first race condition defect detection in static analysis.
Prevent is based on Coverity's patent pending Software DNA Map(TM) analysis system, which provides a high fidelity representation of any software system to allow for extremely accurate analysis of a given application.
"With the growing complexity of software, static code analysis is now a critical capability for companies that need to bring new applications to market on time and on budget," said Seth Hallem, CEO of Coverity. "Coverity is passionate about improving the way software is built and we continually strive to deliver the latest in advanced technology to help our customers improve the overall integrity of the code they write."
Coverity Prevent was selected as a winner after three rounds of judging by a panel of technology writers, analysts, and industry experts. "The 2008 CODiE Awards recognize those companies providing the best new technology products and services across a broad array of industries," noted SIIA President Ken Wasch. "The awards and their winners are a testament to the power of technology to deliver innovative solutions to American businesses and consumers. SIIA congratulates all of the CODiE Award winners and nominees, whose innovation is essential for continuing America's leadership in the global knowledge economy."
